Adult Movie Theatres in Reno

Nevada · last checked 18 October 2026

Reno still has screens, but not in cinemas. Both of its adult cinemas are gone and the last one is an antique mall now. What survived is a shop chain that built theatres and arcades into the back of its stores, and a couple paid twelve dollars to use one in May 2025.

The most useful account is from a couple in May 2025. They went twice, found the shop much bigger than the old location, and on the second visit paid twelve dollars to go through to the back. A theatre, a porn arcade and two private rooms.

Their warning is worth repeating. They said the private rooms are not really private, because they felt open enough that anyone could look in. They still described the place as clean and said they had a good time, and the staff experience varied wildly between the two visits.

Asked directly on the listing whether it has booths and a theatre, a customer answered that this store has booths, a couple of theatres, and some couples booths. That answer is about three years old.

The shop itself is certainly trading, with reviews through December 2025 and the owner replying in January 2026. Nobody has mentioned the back rooms since that answer, so the shop is confirmed and the rooms are not. Worth a call.

The old Suzie’s at 195 Keitzke Lane is closed. A customer in November 2022 described its arcade as two theatre rooms, two two-seaters and around eight private booths, which is what moved.

Open in 2019, gone by 2022

The Libido on South Virginia Street opened in 1976 and the record calls it Reno’s only adult movie theatre. It was still trading in June 2019. By June 2022 it had closed, and by September 2023 the building had become Midtown Antiques.

Nobody recorded the day it shut, which is the point. The gap runs straight through 2020, and this is the same ending found in Little Rock and Rochester: a room full of enclosed spaces closed in March 2020, and the owner worked out that reopening was not worth it.

A forty-five year old business ended and the only trace is that the listing says open in one year and closed in another.

What the buildings became

  • The Libido Adult Store & Theatre1052 South Virginia Street

Opened 1976. Described in the record as Reno's only adult movie theatre. Still open in June 2019, gone by June 2022.

Now: Midtown Antiques. An antique mall.

  • The Keystone Cinema501 Keystone Avenue

Turned to adult films on 12 March 1982. Finished as an independent house and closed on 28 August 1988, its last film Stop Making Sense.

Now: The University of Nevada drama department's rehearsal centre.

Antiques and student drama. Reno’s two adult cinemas both ended up about as respectable as a building can get.

The Keystone is the better joke. It spent six years showing adult films from 1982, went back to ordinary pictures, and closed on 28 August 1988 with Stop Making Sense. The university took the building for its drama department, so students now rehearse plays in it.

The screen moved behind the till

Reno is a city that legalised the things other cities prosecuted. Gambling on the main street, quick divorces, licensed brothels in the counties nearby. None of that saved the adult cinema, because nothing was going to: the internet took the audience and the pandemic took the room.

What did survive is the arrangement you can see at both Suzie’s stores. A retail floor at the front that pays the rent, and a theatre, an arcade and a couple of private rooms behind it. Twelve dollars to go through.

That is most likely what the business looks like from here on anywhere it still exists. Not a cinema with a shop attached, but a shop with a cinema attached.
