Adult Movie Theatres in Spokane
Washington · last checked 20 October 2026
Two places here have rooms, and one of them has done something no other venue in this directory has managed. Upstairs at the Hollywood Erotic Boutique the booths are not booths. They are larger rooms with internet terminals in them, nothing pre-programmed, so you pick what plays. The trade that the internet was supposed to finish has started putting the internet in the rooms.

A small shop with a second floor, and the second floor is the reason this page exists. A visitor on 10 September 2026 called the arrangement interesting and then explained it: larger rooms rather than booths, with internet access, and nothing pre-programmed. A regular in November 2025 said the same in plainer words. Rooms upstairs with computers, so you watch what you want.
Think about what that solves. Every other arcade in this directory runs on a feed of channels somebody else chose, which is exactly the thing a phone beat twenty years ago. Put a browser in the room and the room is selling the only thing it ever actually had, which is a door that locks and other people on the other side of it.
The rest of what people report: dark rooms with comfortable seating and men who go there to meet each other, a friendly counter, and a business traveller who comes back every trip. Several reviews from 2026, which is as current as this directory gets.
One note on the law, and it is a note, not a conclusion. Spokane Valley’s code licenses adult arcade devices one by one, each to a specific location. A room with a computer in it may or may not be a device under that code, and we have no idea whether that has anything to do with how this place is laid out. We are not going to invent a reason.

Inside the city, on Trent rather than Sprague despite the name. The evidence here is one review, from May 2026, and we are listing it because of what it says rather than how much of it there is: the low-light rooms make the videos easier to watch with a few friends in comfortable surroundings.
That is a group room, not a one-man booth, which is a different thing and worth knowing before you go. Nobody has published the hours. Phone first.

Castle Megastore on East Sprague and the two Lovers shops, one in the city and one in the Valley, are all shops. Lovers has been trading forty-four years and is women-owned, which on this site is unusual enough to mention.
Eight blocks west, the same street, four different businesses
The Dishman stands at 8803 East Sprague, less than a mile from the shop above. It is the most complete life story on this site.
- October 1938Opens with 516 seats. A.T. Dishman paid for the building.
- 1954Bought by Favorite Theaters. Dishman dies that year, aged 89.
- 1976Leased by Gaiety Theaters of Seattle, which puts X-rated films on.
- 1977Sheriff's deputies seize a print of Deep Throat. Gaiety is acquitted at every trial.
- 1989Becomes Deja Vu Showgirls.
- 2023The club closes after more than thirty years.
- February 2024Bought by HRC Ministries, a Christian outreach working with trafficking victims, as its headquarters.
Two parts of that deserve more than a line.
The 1977 prosecution. Spokane County deputies seized a print of Deep Throat and other films under the county’s anti-pornography law, and the operator was acquitted at every trial. In 1981 the county prosecutor, Donald C. Brockett, told the local paper that pornography was not covered by the First Amendment and that the courts kept striking down attempts to regulate it. He lost that argument in the only place it counted.
The ending. Deja Vu Showgirls ran in that building from 1989 until 2023, and in February 2024 it was bought by HRC Ministries, a Christian outreach that works with victims of human trafficking, to be their headquarters. A cinema, then a porn house, then a strip club, then that. Nowhere else in this directory does a building travel that far.
Read it against Grand Rapids. Deja Vu is Harry Mohney’s chain, built out of a drive-in in small-town Michigan, and this is one of its buildings. The man who started the modern adult business put a club in a 1938 cinema in Spokane Valley, and the people who bought it out are now using it to work against trafficking.
Sources differ on the details. A local history archive puts the opening on 6 November 1938 with Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn in Holiday and dates the X-rated programming to 1978; the newspaper account says October 1938 with Ginger Rogers in Having Wonderful Time and has Gaiety Theaters taking the lease in 1976. We have followed the newspaper where they conflict.
What the freeway did
East Sprague was the commercial spine out of Spokane and then Interstate 90 was built, and the traffic that kept the shops and the cinemas on it went somewhere else. The Dishman’s decline is dated to exactly that. It is the same mechanism as half this directory, arriving from a direction nobody legislated.
Downtown had its own version. The Rex, by then called the El Rey, played pornography on what the city called skid row and closed in 1974; after the war it had alternated between European art films and adult pictures, which is the switch this whole site keeps finding. The Garland on the north side took X-rated films in the early 1970s under new owners from Bellevue and caused a row about it. It is still a cinema today and shows ordinary films.
And the East Sprague Drive-In, a thousand cars, opened 1949 and closed 1993 for a rerouted off-ramp. It was never an adult house. We mention it only because the name turns up in searches for this subject and it does not belong in them.
