Adult Movie Theatres in Tucson

Arizona · last checked 18 October 2026

Tucson has two working booth arcades, which puts it ahead of almost every city on this site. One of them sits on the same boulevard that held two adult cinemas when this trade still ran on film. No screening room, though, and a customer has complained in writing about exactly that.

This is the strongest evidence of a working arcade anywhere in this directory. Two separate customers wrote about it this year, three months apart, and both named the arcade rather than the shop: one in February calling the privacy and the selection good, one in July saying it is easy to use and has plenty to watch.

Both of them went out of their way to say the staff are easy to ask questions of, which is the detail that keeps coming up about this place across twelve years of reviews.

Open until three in the morning, which almost nothing in this directory is. A reviewer in January 2024 called it the most affordable in town with plenty of privacy in the arcade and thousands of films to choose from.

Read the other side of it before you drive there. In May 2025 somebody wrote that the place is old and dirty and that the videos in the booths do not work. That is one person and the shop was still being reviewed positively two months later, but a broken booth is the specific thing you would be going for, so it is worth knowing.

One reviewer in August 2024 put the gap plainly: they wished there were a theatre and not just booths. There is no screening room in this city.

East Speedway Boulevard, by street number. The trade has never left this road. It moved about two miles further out and carried on.

Tucson never had an adult district downtown. It had Speedway. The two cinemas closed and were not replaced on the same block, but the trade stayed on the road and moved out along it, which is what a city does when the cheap frontage keeps moving outward rather than disappearing.

Eleven months at the Park

The Park opened at 1030 North Park Avenue on 22 January 1952 with The Lavender Hill Mob. It had 296 seats, it sat beside the University of Arizona, and it deliberately sold no popcorn. It was an art house for people who wanted to be taken seriously.

By 1960 it was in trouble. It shut for six weeks, dropped its back-to-back grind programming and tried to go upmarket, and that did not work either. On 19 June 1963 the failing theatre was taken over by the Art Theatre Guild.

That circuit was Louis Sher’s, and buying struggling art houses and turning them over to adults-only films is precisely what it did, all over the country. The name changed quietly to the Park Art Theatre and the programme changed with it. The same circuit took The Movie at 1039 East Sixth Street and did the same thing to that.

The Park lasted eleven months. It closed on 31 May 1964 with Heavenly Bodies and Wild Gals of the Wicked West. The University of Arizona took the building, used it as a drama annex for a while, and the Park name came back to it later. The Movie was demolished. A third house, Wee Flicks on East Grant Road, is also recorded and also gone.
