Adult Movie Theatres in Akron

Nineteen hours a day, seven in the morning until two the next. That is a long day by any standard, though not a record on this site: plenty of places never close at all, Dallas has a row of shops trading six in the morning to two, and a Denver arcade runs six till four.

The best account is from a woman who has been going for years and updated her review in September 2025. She lists the layout: viewing booths, a small theatre area with a single row of seating, and a lounge with couches, which she says is her favourite part. The desk sells refreshments and snacks and anything else you are likely to need, and she says to just ask.

Her point about the people is the useful one. She describes it as easy to meet like-minded people without being uncomfortable, says she has never been approached by anyone expecting anything, and that a clear no has always been respected. Then the honest caveat: entertaining when it is busy, boring when nobody is in, so the timing decides the evening.

Not everyone agrees. A visitor in January 2018 found men walking into his booth, no privacy and no women, though he said the staff were nice. Going back further, in 2010 this address was a strip club with a topless side and a fully nude side, a ten dollar cover that included a beer, and twenty dollar private dances. It closed for remodelling and came back as what it is now.

The same reviewer who mapped Xtc went here for the first time in April 2025 and wrote it up the same way: clean, staff friendly and welcoming, the theatre nice, the viewing booths roomy, and one of them fitted with a reclining chair, which she called a very nice extra touch. She only stayed a short while and said she would be back for longer.

It is part of a chain and the house replies to reviews with the same template you find on its sister shops. Prices are the common complaint: a loyal customer in October 2023 said the pricing is high on pretty much everything and that she keeps going anyway.

Twelve further reviews on the listing are filtered out of the main view, so the public picture here is thinner than the total.

Counted on indirect evidence and we will say exactly what it is. A man who brought his girlfriend in September 2025 found the place chill and comfortable, and his only complaint was that he could hear the videos and the customers in the back room from where he was standing.

That tells you there is a back room, that it has films running in it and people in it, and that the wall between it and the shop is thin. Nobody has described the inside of it. A woman reviewing in March 2020 said the shop is bright and clean and that she felt comfortable there, which on this site is worth printing.

A thousand-seat house from 1920 that died twice before anybody tried to save it. What makes this one different from every other rescue in this directory is who did the saving and what it became.

A doctor spent something like two hundred thousand dollars buying and refreshing a forty-year-old theatre, and reopened it in 1960 as a burlesque house. Eighteen years later it dropped burlesque and became the Astor Adult Cinema. It closed on 30 August 1981 with a double bill of Touch Me in the Morning and Three Ripening Cherries, sold at a sheriff’s auction for $20,500, and came down in March 1982.

Two hundred thousand to save it, twenty thousand five hundred to take it away.

The record contradicts itself here more than usual. The opening is given as 9 August 1920 and a contributor cites a grand opening advertisement from 8 September. The reopening is 1960 in the main entry and November 1961 in a comment. And one contributor says the Astor closed permanently on 26 October 1978 with Linda Wong in The Final Sin, and that the venue moved two blocks away and carried on as the all-new Astor Adult Cinema, which would mean the 1981 closing belongs to a different building.
